How to Pair Bluetooth® in Your GMC
If you drive a GMC truck or SUV, you already know about several of the conveniences offered inside the cabin. One of the many great features included in most new GMC models is Bluetooth® connectivity, which lets you stay in touch and stay entertained safely and easily. To enjoy Bluetooth® connectivity, simply pair your smartphone to your GMC vehicle.
Make sure your phone is ready for pairing
The first step of pairing your phone to your vehicle’s Bluetooth® interface is to make sure that the vehicle is on and in park. Your smartphone should have Bluetooth® activated, and it should be discoverable by other devices. You’ll be able to tell whether it is discoverable or not by checking your settings.
Know your options
Depending on your vehicle and its GMC IntelliLink interface, the process of pairing may be slightly different from vehicle to vehicle. You can pair your phone by pressing the Push to Talk button on your touchscreen and giving voice commands. In some vehicles, you can pair your phone using the radio screen. However, one of the easiest methods is to pair your device through your infotainment screen.
Utilize the infotainment screen
To pair your phone using the infotainment screen, look for the Phone icon on your touch-screen display or the tactile phone button. Then, choose the Search Device option in the screen menu. If your phone’s Bluetooth® is on and discoverable, you should see it on your touch screen and can select it.
If your vehicle has Simple Secure Pairing, it’ll connect automatically. If not, a code will appear on your screen that you’ll need to enter into your smartphone. This should lead to a prompt on your phone asking you to accept the connection and allow access. Select whatever affirmative option you’re given, and you should be all set.
